Tilbury's Brochu named top OHL goalie, rookie for January

A 17-year-old goalie from Tilbury who's quickly making a name for himself with the London Knights is off to a perfect start in 2020.

Brett Brochu was named the OHL Goaltender and OHL Rookie of the month for January after starting the year off with nine wins and no losses for London along with a 1.89 goals-against average and .940 save percentage over that stretch.

With those nine wins, Brochu also extended his personal win streak to 11 games.

The former Dresden Jr. Kings goalie, who won PJHL Stobbs Division Rookie of the Year honours after the 2018-2019 season, leads OHL rookie goaltenders with a 2.52 goals-against average, a .916 save percentage, and a record of 21-5-0-0.

He currently ranks fifth in the league in wins (21), fourth in the league in save percentage (.916), and third in the league in goals against average (2.52).
