Driver faces speeding, cannabis charges in 402 traffic stop

Lambton OPP charged a driver with speeding and having cannabis readily available following a traffic stop early Thursday on Highway 402.

At around 1:45 a.m. an officer saw a vehicle in Plympton-Wyoming travelling at a high rate of speed.

When the vehicle was stopped police say an odour of marijuana was detected and marijuana was allegedly found inside the console.

A 22-year-old from Chatham faces charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Cannabis Control Act.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
