Dover man pulled from Lake St. Clair

A 52-year-old Dover man is recovering after falling through the ice on Lake St. Clair.

Chatham-Kent's OPP marine unit was called to Dover Township around 6:43 p.m. on Sunday about a man who had fallen through the ice. Police said calls for help could be heard from the shoreline. A search for the man included Chatham-Kent Police Sevice, CK firefighters, and CK EMS. However, they were unable to get to the 52-year-old.

There's no word on how long he was in the water, but the United States Coast Guard was able to pull him out.

OPP said the man was airlifted to Windsor and taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
