Windsor police headquarters closed to visitors

The Windsor Police Service has closed police headquarters and the Amherstburg detachment to visitors in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emergency services remain unchanged and officers will continue to respond to calls as needed.

Windsor police said stringent screening efforts are in place for everyone who enters police headquarters and all satellite facilities.  The service has the required personal protective equipment available for its members should a situation dictate their required use.

Police are assuring residents emergency calls can always be made to 911 and non-emergency reports can be made through the Windsor Police Service online reporting tool. Non-emergency calls to the communication centre can be made to 519-258-6111.

Police are asking the public to report any suspicious activity while many businesses are closed or operating with reduced hours and staff.
