New COVID-19 case reported in Grey Bruce area

There is another confirmed case of COVID-19 in Grey Bruce.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit said on Thursday that the female in her 60s travelled outside of the province and is self-isolating.

There are now six confirmed cases in Grey and Bruce counties. The exact locations of the cases are not being disclosed.

One of the patients has recovered. There are no cases reported in long-term care facilities or among health care providers.

24 negative test results have been received in the past 24 hours, while there have been 191 negative test results to date.

It currently takes about 4.5 days for local test results.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit continues to work closely with Long-Term Care and Retirement Home facilities to ensure updated plans and protocols in place.

The health unit is messaging municipalities in regard to supporting and enforcing self-isolation for international travellers in condominiums and multi-unit dwellings and to limit non-essential travel. Direction has been provided to local police services regarding the enforcement of orders for self-isolation.
