Humane Society launching 'virtual' food drive

Facing a shrinking supply of food, Humane Society London & Middlesex is turning to the public for help while maintaining physical distance.

The Humane Society has launched what it is calling a "virtual food drive" to restock its shelves. It is asking supporters to make financial donations through its website so that it can then purchase food and supplies from local pet food stores.

"Alternatively, pet food donations can be purchased through the HSLM Amazon.ca Wish List," the Humane Society said in a news release issued Tuesday.

The wish list can be found by clicking here.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Humane Society London & Middlesex is closed to the public for animal adoptions or non-emergency surrenders.

Pet owners requiring the immediate surrender of their animals due to an emergency are asked to call 519-451-0630 ext. 232.
