Stratford long-term care resident dies from COVID-19

A resident at Greenwood Court in Stratford who had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.

Huron Perth Public Health said in a release Saturday the resident was in their 80s and became sick with COVID-19 symptoms on April 3.

The release said as of Saturday at 3:06 p.m., there have been six confirmed cases in residents at Greenwood and five confirmed cases in staff. All affected individuals continue to be cared for at Greenwood and none have been transferred to hospital.

The health unit also reported one new COVID-19 case Saturday, bringing the community total to 31 with three recovered and now two deaths.
