Summer will have to start without Art in the Park

For 41 years, Art in the Park has marked the unofficial start of the summer season in Windsor-Essex, but not this year.

Like so many other events, the event at Willistead Park has been cancelled.

To keep the spirit of Art in the Park alive, the work of artists and their contact information will be posted online.

"This signature event, one of Ontario's largest, draws thousands year after year, and has allowed Rotary to raise and generously donate over $1.3-million for the restoration of Willistead Manor," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. "Around $2.1 million more to support local community organizations."

Organizers said the event would go ahead in Willistead Park June 3 and June 4, 2021.
