UPDATE: Highway 401 reopens following rollover crash

A 58-year-old driver from London has been charged in connection with a rollover crash that shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent early.

The westbound lanes of the highway at Orford Road (interchange 117) have since re-opened.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers were called to the scene near the Victoria Road exit (interchange 109) at around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday after a tractor-trailer left the highway and rolled over on its side in the north ditch.

The driver didn't suffer any injuries as a result of the crash, but was later charged with careless driving.
