11 new COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths as of Sunday afternoon.

The total number of cases in the Windsor-area is now at 623 with 1,362 test results currently pending. So far, 51 people have died as a result of the virus in Windsor-Essex.

From Saturday to Sunday, four more cases were listed as being resolved. This brings the total number of people in the region that have recovered from the virus to 202.

Across Ontario, 17,553 confirmed cases were reported on Sunday, a 2.5 per cent increase from Saturday's figures. So far in the province, 1,216 have died from COVID-19 and 12,005 have recovered from the virus.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
