COVID-19 cases confirmed Sunday

Locally there were more lab confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported five new cases Sunday, bringing its total to 304. In Wellington County alone there were no new cases reported yesterday. The total there is still 50 with two deaths and 23 cases resolved.

Over the weekend, Huron Perth Public Health reported three new cases, bringing its total to 49. There are outbreaks in five long-term care homes including Huronview in Huron East and Braemar in Wingham. In both cases only staff have tested positive so far.

One new lab confirmed case was reported by Grey Bruce Public Health bringing the cumulative total there to 85. A resident at Parkview Manor Long-Term Care Home tested positive and an outbreak was declared. It is one of two facilities in the two counties with active outbreaks. The other is at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
