Local businesses donate face shields to hospitals and retirement homes

Some local businesses have donated much needed personal protective equipment (PPE) to a local hospital and retirement homes to help fight COVID-19.

Montgomery Ford, along with the Kincardine and Lucknow Co-ops, have donated 100 face shields to staff at the Kincardine Hospital, as well as some local area retirement homes.

Many local manufacturers have retooled production lines to make critically needed PPE for hospital, retirement home, long-term care home and other medical staff. Other businesses have either paid to donate or dropped off PPE to healthcare providers all over Midwestern Ontario.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
