The Rotary Club of Sarnia is helping Community Living residents stay engaged and connected during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The club has donated PlayStations, iPads and other electronic devices so that residents can be in touch with family and friends while at home.
Rotarian Bill Boynton organized the donation and said it was an unmet need.
"These residents have been affected by the lockdown," said Boynton. "They normally lead very active lives in the community and are used to getting out and about. We want to enable them to stay engaged, and for them to know the community cares."
In total, the club is donating $3,000 worth of goods to eight homes from money raised earlier in the year.
Club President Sandra Graham said they're always looking for opportunities to help those whose needs are not being met.
"The Rotary Club of Sarnia has consistently contributed financially and done countless hours of volunteer work for the Sarnia-Lambton community, as well as internationally, for the past 92 years," she said.
The Rotary Club of Sarnia is supported through the activities of more than 45 members, who are local business and organization leaders representing a variety of vocations.
