COVID-19 cases climb over 200 in Sarnia-Lambton

Lambton Public Health is reporting three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton.

On its website Monday night, the health unit reported 203 cases of the deadly virus.

To date, 145 people have been deemed recovered. That's 71 per cent of the total cases. The death toll stands at 17. 

According to the Lambton Public Health website, 73 per cent of the cases were recorded in urban areas.

The health unit has received results from 4,316 tests, of which, 95 per cent have been negative.

Monday morning, Bluewater Health reported there are eight people in hospital confirmed to have the virus, and 17 patients are suspected of having it with tests pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
