COVID-19 cases hold steady in Midwestern Ontario

There are continued signs that the spread of COVID-19 has slowed in midwestern Ontario.

Huron Perth Public health is again reporting no new cases.  Of the 49 positive cases, 41 have recovered. 2,063 people have been tested, with 90 results still pending.  5 people have died in the region.

Grey Bruce also reported no new cases in the latest report from public health. Of the 90 confirmed cases, 72 are recovered. There have been no deaths.

And there were no new cases reported in Wellington County today. 34 of the 55 confirmed cases have been resolved in the county, but 2 people have died.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
