One new COVID-19 death in London-area

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the London-area now sits at 47 after one new fatality was reported on Saturday.

Updated figures released by the Middlesex London Health Unit show that the latest death was in a long-term care home. To date, there have been 20 deaths in long-term care homes and seven deaths in local retirement homes.

There were also two new COVID-19 cases reported in the London-area on Saturday. The total number of cases is now at 467.

No new cases were listed as being resolved, with the number still at 324.

Province-wide, the case count reached 22,313 on Saturday with public health officials confirming 391 new cases.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
