Zero new COVID-19 deaths in Windsor-area, 10 new cases

For the second day in a row, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is reporting no new deaths in the area related to COVID-19.

The number of fatalities in the region remains at 63.

However, 10 additional cases were reported on Monday, bringing the total number to 783 since the pandemic began.

Of the confirmed cases, 432 were transmitted through close contact, 193 through possible community transmission, 108 through travel and 50 cases are listed as being unknown exposure type.

So far, 451 individuals in Windsor-Essex have recovered from the virus and there are 955 pending test results.

On Monday, Provincial health officials reported a 1.3 per cent increase in cases from the previous day, bringing the province-wide total to  22,957.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
