COVID cases unchanged in Sarnia-Lambton

There's been no change in the last 24 hours in the number of COVID-19 cases in the community.

Lambton Public Health said the number of confirmed cases remains at 225 and 163 people have recovered.

Health unit officials said they're still dealing with three outbreaks at long-term care homes.

The death toll climbed to 19 over the weekend following the death of another resident at Sarnia's Vision Nursing Home.

Lambton Public Health has received the results from 5,162 COVID-19 tests and 96 per cent have come back negative.

Bluewater Health reported Tuesday that the number of people in hospital confirmed to have the virus has dropped to four, and 14 patients are suspected of having it with tests pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
