Outbreak over at nursing home in Huron County

Some good news concerning a couple of COVID-19 situations at local care homes.

In an email to CKNX, Braemar Retirement Centre Nursing Home owner Archie MacGowan says the facility is now out of its COVID-19 outbreak. Two asymptomatic workers had tested positive.

Also, the Grey Bruce Health Unit confirms a false positive result in a previously announced COVID-19 lab report for a staff member in Grey Gables long-term care home. After the initial positive test result was received on May 17, the sample was re-tested and second and third tests were undertaken. Those results all came back negative.

All outbreak protocols, case management and contact tracing activities were put in place to ensure safety while waiting for the later results.
