Perth County organizations asked to cancel festivals and events

Perth County municipalities are advising their community organizations to consider adjusting, postponing, or cancelling upcoming community festivals and events, including parades, which would involve groups larger than the number of individuals permitted.

The Municipality of North Perth, Municipality of West Perth, and Township of Perth East ask community organizations that have traditionally held festivals and events in the coming months to explore virtual or other safe and permitted ways to celebrate.

This advice is in reference to the Province of Ontario State of Emergency and Provincial Emergency Order 52/20. The emergency order prohibits individuals to attend organized events including parades, social gatherings, and religious services or ceremonies of more than five people.

One exemption to this emergency order allows Ontarians to attend drive-in religious gatherings, under certain conditions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Details on provincial emergency orders can be found on the Province of Ontario website.
