Clinton Raceway unveils plan to get season underway

Clinton Raceway has a plan in place to get the harness racing season underway amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a release on May 22nd, the raceway announced that following guidelines from the province and Ontario Racing, qualifiers will be held on Sunday, May 31st and Sunday, June 7th, with the season officially beginning Sunday, June 14th with a 1:30 pm post time. Training will be offered Tuesday, May 26, from 11 am to 1 pm. Interested parties are asked to call the race office Monday, May 25th at 8:00 am to reserve space. 

Races will be held without fans for safety reasons, and bets can be made at HPIbet.com. Clinton Raceway will stream the races live on their website as well as their Facebook page. For more information visit clintonraceway.com.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
