Zero new COVID-19 deaths, four new cases in London-Middlesex

For the second day in a row, the Middlesex London Health Unit is reporting no new deaths in the area related to COVID-19.

The number of fatalities in the region remains at 48.

However, four additional cases were reported in the region on Saturday, bringing the total number to 495 since the pandemic began. Ninety-eight of the total cases are in local long-term care homes while 65 are in retirement-homes.

So far, 363 individuals in the London-area have recovered from the virus, up from 357 on Friday.

On Saturday, provincial health officials reported a 1.7 per cent increase in cases from the previous day, bringing the province-wide total to 25,040.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
