UPDATE: Westbound Hwy 401 reopened in Chatham-Kent

All westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent have been reopened following a crash that resulted in a lengthy closure.

The OPP closed the westbound lanes of the highway at Kent Bridge Road (interchange 101) just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, following the collision. The eastbound lanes were also closed but reopened to traffic around 10:30 a.m.

Early reports have indicated that multiple trucks may have been involved.

The highway was completely reopened to traffic shortly before 7 p.m.

No further details about the crash have been provided by police.
