UPDATE: Charge laid after Centre Side Road crash

An 18-year-old Louisville man is charged with careless driving after a crash on Centre Side Road Thursday afternoon that knocked out power temporarily to several Hydro One customers in the area.

Chatham-Kent police said the charge was laid after a driver lost control of his vehicle at around 2 p.m. Thursday and hit a hydro pole near Gregory Line.

The damage was estimated at $7,000 and only minor injuries were reported.

Police closed a section of the roadway for several hours on Thursday between Pioneer Line and Gregory Drive as officers investigated.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
