Virtual East Coast Kitchen Party supporting Inn

Sarnia-Lambton residents are invited to an online party this weekend, featuring food, fun and fiddlers from Canada's east coast.

Rotary Club of Sarnia is taking part in the third annual East Coast Kitchen Party Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., featuring entertainers Ron James, Peter Garland, J.P. Cormier, Tommy Leadbeater, and Shane Cook and the Woodchippers.

Club President Sandra Graham said while the Zoom event is free, those tuning in are encouraged to make a donation to the Inn of the Good Shepherd before logging-on.

Graham said the party, featuring 17 rotary clubs from across southwestern Ontario and into Michigan, is shaping up to be a big one.

"Last year they had 423 guests, and this year, right now, were at 520 Zoom invitations to go out."

Graham said they're also encouraging participants to get some takeout from a local restaurant for the event.

"So it's an opportunity to pick up dinner at a local restaurant and support our local businesses and come home and have an East Coast Kitchen Party in your kitchen. So what could be better than that?"

Graham said those taking part are asked to register for the event by noon Saturday.
