UPDATE: Another COVID-19 death linked to Vision Nursing Home

Bluewater Health is reporting a 23rd death due to COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton.

Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said a 102-year-old man from Vision Nursing Home has died in hospital.

It's the 15th death reported at Bluewater Health, and eighth linked to the long term care home.

Currently, all positive Vision residents are being treated at the hospital. A total of 25 residents and 24 staff at the home have tested positive.

Overall, there are currently 13 patients at the hospital with confirmed COVID-19, and tests are pending for 22 patients suspected of having the virus.

Lambton Public Health said as of Monday morning that 6,657 tests have been conducted and 96 per cent have been negative.

The Lambton Public Health website shows 263 confirmed cases and 201 recoveries.

Outbreaks are ongoing at both Vision Nursing Home and Lambton Meadowview Villa.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
