No new COVID-19 cases, recoveries climb one

One more person has recovered from COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton, while no new cases have been reported.

Lambton Public Health updated its website Wednesday night to report a total of 211 recoveries.

The number of confirmed cases is unchanged from Tuesday night at 266.

The death toll stands at 24. The latest death was a 96-year-old woman, a resident from Vision Nursing Home, who was admitted to the hospital and died on Tuesday.

Lambton Public Health has now received the results from 7,372 tests, 96 per cent of which have been negative for COVID-19.

Bluewater Health reported Thursday morning, 12 patients in hospital were confirmed to have the virus, while 26 were suspected of having it with tests pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
