COVID recoveries top 80 per cent

Six more people have beaten COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton.

Lambton Public Health reported Thursday night that the total number of recovered cases is now 217, while the number of confirmed cases rose one to 267.

The death toll remains unchanged since Tuesday at 24.

An outbreak at Vision Nursing Home declared on April 23 is ongoing. Nine deaths in the community have been linked to the long-term care facility.

Bluewater Health reported on its website Thursday that there are 12 patients in hospital confirmed to have COVID-19, 26 are suspected of having it with tests pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
