Three new COVID-19 cases reported in London-Middlesex

Health officials reported three new cases of COVID-19 in London-Middlesex on Sunday afternoon.

The total number of confirmed cases within the region has now reached 579. Over the weekend the Middlesex-London Health Unit reported seven new cases and one new death of a woman in her 90s who lived in a retirement home. As of Sunday, 440 people in the area have recovered from the virus and the death toll stands at 57.

Meanwhile, Ontario reported 197 new cases on Sunday bringing the provincial total up to 32,189. So far 26,961 people have recovered representing 83.8 per cent of the total number of cases.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
