COVID caseload climbs by one

The COVID-19 caseload in Sarnia-Lambton is up by one to 276.

Lambton Public Health reported one new confirmed case Sunday night, as well as two more recovered cases, now up to 235.

No related deaths have been reported since June 6 and the death toll stands at 25.

Health officials continue to monitor an outbreak at Vision Nursing Home which was declared on April 23.

Since the pandemic started, there have been seven institutional outbreaks in the community.

Bluewater Health reported Monday that no patients confirmed to have the virus were in hospital, and there were 17 suspected of having it with tests pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
