GBHS increases COVID-19 assessment centre hours

Grey Bruce Health Services has increased the weekly hours of the COVID-19 Assessment Centre at the Owen Sound Hospital.

The assessment centre in Owen Sound is now open Monday to Friday from noon to 8 p.m.

Anyone who visits the COVID-19 assessment centre must bring and wear a mask or a face covering before being assessed. The assessment centre is located just outside the front entrance of the hospital’s Emergency Department.

GBHS said with the recent announcement from the province that long-term care homes can now accept visitors who test negative for the novel coronavirus, testing demands have increased.

For now, appointments are not necessary at the assessment centre at the Owen Sound hospital, but options for scheduled appointments are being planned for the near future.
