COVID caseload unchanged since Saturday

Roughly 86 per cent of the 285 confirmed COVID-19 cases across Sarnia-Lambton have now recovered.

Lambton Public Health's updated figures Monday night showed 285 confirmed cases, unchanged since Saturday, 25 deaths, unchanged since June 6, and 245 recovered, which is up one over the previous 24 hours.

The health unit has completed nearly 11,000 COVID tests, with over 97 per cent coming back negative.

There are two active institutional outbreaks locally -- one at Afton Park Place Long Term Care Community in Sarnia where one staff member has tested positive, and the other is at Bluewater Health where four staff have tested positive.

Since June 15, the Sarnia hospital has not had any COVID-positive patients -- there are currently 15 patients suspected of having the virus with tests pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
