COVID curve stays flat

Sarnia-Lambton hasn't seen a COVID-19 death in nearly three weeks.

The community's 25th fatality came back on June 6, the 10th COVID-death connected to an outbreak at Vision Nursing Home.

That outbreak came to an end one week ago after a total of 54 confirmed cases, which included 28 staff and 26 residents.

Thursday night's updated COVID figures from Lambton Public Health were unchanged from the previous 24 hours -- 285 confirmed cases and 249 recovered cases.

Since June 15, Bluewater Health has not had any COVID-positive patients. There are currently 20 patients suspected of having the virus with tests pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
