No new COVID-19 cases reported locally over the weekend

There are no new cases of COVID-19 reported over the weekend in Huron-Perth and Grey-Bruce.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health is not updating its data on the weekend.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported a total of 112 cases, with only nine of them active. There is one facility outbreak at Elgin Abbey Nursing Home in Chesley.

Huron Perth Public Health's cumulative total remains at 57 and 51 people have recovered and five had died from the virus.

Globally, COVID-19 passed some grim milestones over the weekend.

Health officials are reporting at least 500,000 people have now died, and more than 10 million cases have been confirmed.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
