Eight new COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex region

There were eight new cases of COVID-19 reported in Windsor-Essex on Sunday, with most of them coming from community spread.

A total of seven of the newest cases were from the community while one case was an agri-farm worker.

There are now 2,333 confirmed cases of the virus in Windsor-Essex.

The number of resolved cases did not change from Saturday to Sunday and remains at 1,444. The fatality count also remained at 71 as of Sunday.

For the second day in a row, there was a 0.3 per cent increase in cases across Ontario. The provincial case count is now at 39,449, with 35,359 cases listed as resolved.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
