Recovered COVID-19 cases climb one

Another local case of COVID-19 has been deemed resolved.

Lambton Public Health said 271 of the 319 confirmed cases have now recovered.

The death toll stands at 25, leaving 23 active cases.

The health unit said since the pandemic started, 18,352 test results have come back and 98.3 have been negative for COVID-19.

On its website, Lambton Public Health said 81 per cent of the new cases reported in the last two weeks have been linked to or a close contact of a known source.

In its daily report on Thursday, Bluewater Health said there are currently no patients in hospital with the virus. There were 17 patients awaiting test results including pre-surgical screening.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
