A dozen new COVID-19 cases in London-area

There was a slight spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in London-Middlesex on Saturday.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit reported 12 additional cases. The regional case count is now at 707.

Meanwhile, no new cases were listed as being resolved on Saturday. Since the pandemic started, 621 individuals have recovered from the virus in the London-area.

A majority of the cases in the region, 254, were contracted through an outbreak while 157 cases were from close contact of a confirmed case.

Provincially, 106 new cases were reported on Saturday morning, bringing the total case count in Ontario to 40,565. Nearly 91 per cent of the total cases in the province have recovered.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
