COVID caseload up by one

The local COVID-19 caseload has increased by one over the last 24 hours.

Lambton Public Health said the total number of confirmed cases is 332. The number of resolved cases is unchanged at 295 and the death toll stands at 25.

The health unit also reported an outbreak at an unknown workplace has been declared over. Four cases were linked to the outbreak reported on Monday, August 10.

To date, 20,558 test results have been received. The local health agency said only 1.6 per cent have come back positive for the virus.

On its website Saturday, Bluewater Health reported that there are no positive patients in hospital and 16 are awaiting test results, including pre-surgical screening.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
