UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch ends

Environment Canada has ended severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for regions across southwestern Ontario.

A severe thunderstorm watch was issued on Saturday evening for London-Middlesex, Strathroy, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor-Essex. The national weather agency called for severe thunderstorms to develop as a result of hot and humid weather conditions. Those watches ended around 8:52 p.m.

Areas such as Sarnia-Lambton and Petrolia were briefly under a severe thunderstorm warning but the weather statement was downgraded back to a watch around 8:31 p.m. The watch also ended around 8:52 p.m.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada also ended severe thunderstorm warnings for areas such as Stratford, Perth County, Listowel, Wingham, and Northern Huron County.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
