COVID figures unchanged

There's been no change to the local COVID-19 caseload in the last 24 hours.

Lambton Public Health says 299 of the 336 confirmed cases have been deemed resolved. The death toll stands and 25, leaving 12 active cases in the community.

Since the start of the pandemic, the local health agency has received 21,146 test results, of which 98.4 per cent have been negative for the virus.

Bluewater Health reported on its website on Thursday that there are no COVID-19 positive patients in hospital and 20 are awaiting test results, including pre-surgical screening.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
