Five new COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported just a handful of new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.

A total of five additional cases were reported, bringing the local total to 2,459. One case is a retirement home resident, two are staff memebers of a retirement home and two cases remain under investigation.

There were no new resolved cases reported on Saturday with the number of people who have recovered from the virus in the region sitting at 2,292.

There remain two workplace outbreaks in Windsor-Essex, both in the agriculture sector.

Provincially, 108 new cases were reported on Saturday, a 0.3 per cent increase over Friday. The number of total cases in Ontario is now at 41,287, with 37,487 of them listed as recovered.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
