Business Excellence Awards going online

The Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce's 132nd annual Business Excellence Awards will be held online this fall.

The virtual ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 8 at 7 p.m. on the Chamber's social media sites and on YourTV.

The awards were scheduled for April but were postponed until October before moving online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chamber also announced the 2020 winners.

The citizen of the year is Derwyn Armstrong, and the entrepreneur of the year is Corine Wagenaar of Paragon Property Management and Maintenance.

The business individual of the year is Ron Nydam of JP Contractors Inc., and the young business individual of the year is Darin Wìllder of Precision Tree Care.

The large business of the year is Honey Electric Limited, the medium business of the year is JP Contractors Inc., and the small business of the year is Battery Boy.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
