WECHU reports five new COVID-19 cases

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported five new cases of COVID-19 in the community on Wednesday.

Three of the cases were linked to close contacts of previously confirmed cases and two cases are still under investigation.

"The numbers are definitely encouraging and it just helps to remind that all these measures are helping people. Obviously, when people are not seeing cases they think that everything is good but we're not seeing cases because all of these people are doing a good job," said Medical Officer of Health Dr. Wajid Ahmed.

There are currently 74 active cases in the community.
