Two new COVID-19 cases in London-Middlesex

The London-area saw a pair of additional COVID-19 cases on Saturday.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit reported two new cases. The total case count for the region now stands at 728.

So far 57 people have died from the virus in the London-area, a number that hasn’t changed since June 12.

Elsewhere, Elgin and Oxford counties recorded no new cases on Saturday for the third day in a row. The two counties’ total case count stands at 254.

Across Ontario, provincial health officials reported 148 new cases, which represents a 0.4 per cent increase over Friday’s figures.

Health Minister Christine Elliot noted on her Twitter that 18 of Ontario's 34 public health units reported no new cases on Saturday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
