Windsor-Essex sees five new COVID-19 cases

Windsor-Essex saw only a handful of new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

The local health unit reported five new cases, bringing the regional case count to 2,673.

Three of the latest cases are from close contact of confirmed cases, one is travel-related and one remains under investigation.

Currently, only 37 of the cases in Windsor-Essex are active.

There remained zero COVID-19 outbreaks at retirement homes, long-term care homes, schools or workplaces in the region.

Provincial health officials reported 566 new cases on Sunday and processed nearly 39,700.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
