11 new COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex

The Windsor-Essex region saw 11 new COVID-19 cases on Monday from a variety of different transmission sources.

According to the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, six of the cases are from close contact with a confirmed case, two are travel-related, one is a local health care worker, one case is community-acquired and one is still being investigated.

As of Monday, there are now 2,732 confirmed cases in the region, 67 of which are active cases. A total of 2,589 individuals have recovered from the virus so far in Windsor-Essex.

Health officials in Ontario will not be reporting daily numbers on Monday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. On Sunday, the province reported 649 new cases of the virus and 809 cases on Saturday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
