Another jump in London-Middlesex COVID-19 cases

On Monday, health officials in London-Middlesex reported the highest number of cases recorded in a single day.

Twenty-five additional cases were recorded in the region on Monday. Previously, the most cases recorded on a single day was 24 on April 16.

The case count in London-Middlesex is now at 999. There were also seven recoveries in the region reported on Monday, bringing the number of people who have recovered to 845.

Of the total cases, 86 required hospitalization not in the ICU, 33 cases required ICU admission and 880 cases were never hospitalized.

Elsewhere, Southwestern Public Health, the health unit covering St. Thomas, Woodstock and Elgin and Oxford counties, reported three COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

Provincial health officials did not report updated numbers of Monday due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
