Leamington man faces multiple property crime charges

A Leamington man is facing numerous charges following a recent arrest.

The charges stem from an arrest at a business on Erie Street South on Friday, along with previous property crime investigations, according to OPP Constable Craig Hudders.

Mathew DaCosta, 37, is charged with two counts each of credit card theft, possession of a stolen credit card, and theft of under $5,000 from a motor vehicle.

He is also charged with six counts of using a stolen credit card, four counts of trespass by night, and one count each of break-and-enter, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and failure to comply with probation.

DaCosta was held in custody and will face a bail hearing at a future date in a Windsor courtroom.

These charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
