COVID cases climb for fourth straight day in Sarnia-Lambton

Lambton Public Health is reporting another case of COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton over the past 24 hours.

On its website Wednesday night, the local health agency reported there are now three active cases.

Since the pandemic started, there have been 351 confirmed cases reported and 323 have been deemed resolved.  The death toll is unchanged in over four months and stands at 25.

As of October 10, the health unit has received results from 42,995 COVID-19 tests, of which less than one per cent have been positive for the virus.

Bluewater Health reports one patient in hospital with the virus and 13 with tests pending including pre-surgical screening.

The COVID-positive patient is a non-resident who remains in the ICU.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
