COVID-19 rates vary in Midwestern Ontario

COVID-19 rates vary in Midwestern Ontario.

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit reported four new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, all located in South Bruce Peninsula. There are now nine active cases in Grey Bruce.

Huron and Perth Counties are currently free of any confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Huron Perth Medical officer of health Dr. Miriam Klassen said she is aware of additional restrictions in effect in neighbouring regions, beyond what the current requirements of the stage three opening rules.

"At this time I'm not planning the same type of order in Huron Perth. Local rates do not support us taking additional actions at this time, "she said.

She says they will continue to monitor the situation.

There were two active cases of COVID-19 reported in Wellington County Thursday by Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health.

There are no facility outbreaks in Midwestern Ontario.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
